Invest in Vehicle Inspections & Tune-Ups

VISIT A FIRESTONE COMPLETE AUTO CARE STORE NEAR YOU AND DISCOVER THE DIFFERENCE WE MAKE.

VEHICLE INSPECTIONS AND CAR TUNE-UPS

Vehicle inspections are vital to the health of your car. Vehicle inspections are essentially a checkup for your vehicle, and Firestone Complete Auto Care's auto technicians are your car's expert medical staff. Vehicle inspections at Firestone Complete Auto Care help you keep your car running newer, stronger and longer.

Now you might be thinking, "Can I get a tune-up to fix or improve my car's performance?" Great question. A tune-up typically meant replacing spark plugs, spark plug wires and distributor caps (among other things, depending on the vehicle). As automotive technology progressed and cars became more sophisticated machines, "tune-ups" evolved to mean different things for different vehicles. The needs of cars, trucks and SUVs today extend beyond what was once called a traditional "tune-up."

Today, those key elements of a tune-up may not be needed to fix vehicle performance issues (like stalling, jerking, reduction in power or strange noises) that were once associated with needing a tune-up. To understand what is causing vehicle performance issues today, we start with a vehicle inspection.

VEHICLE SYMPTOMS AND DIAGNOSTICS

There are over 40 specialty certification exams that focus on a specific automotive area. ASE certification exams can include any of the following automotive focuses:

  • Frequent stalls
  • Strange noises, including knocking and pinging
  • Alternator problems
  • Reduction in power
  • Vehicle jerking/rough ride
  • Exhaust odor
  • After-run (the engine coughs and chugs for several seconds after shutting off the ignition)
  • Sluggishness upon acceleration
  • Inefficient fuel economy
  • Warning lights, including maintenance warning light, check engine light and service indicator light
